  • Three nights in a private-pool villa in Bhilar
  • Breakfast and dinner at the villa
  • Guided strawberry farm visit with picking on one morning
  • Mapro Garden and Panchgani market run
  • Table Land sunset trip

Peak strawberry season is the busiest three weeks of the winter on this plateau, and the one booking people most often get wrong. They arrive on a Saturday, drive to a farm at 11 am, find the rows already picked, and spend the afternoon in traffic on the Panchgani–Mahabaleshwar road.

This package is sequenced to avoid exactly that.

Day 1 — Arrive, swim, eat

Afternoon. Check in from 1 pm. The villa has a private pool with a uniform four-foot depth, which is safe for children and shallow enough that nobody needs to supervise from the edge with their shoes on.

Evening. Dinner at the villa. Do not drive to Mahabaleshwar for dinner on arrival night — the road is a queue until 8:30 pm in season.

Day 2 — The farm, early

7:30 am. Leave for the farm. This is the whole point of the itinerary. Before 9:30 the fruit is cool, the rows are full, and the light is good for photographs.

9:30 am. Back at the villa for breakfast. Most farms take 45 minutes to an hour if you pick seriously.

11:00 am. Mapro Garden. It is 2 km away and by 11 the queue is manageable. Strawberry with cream, a pizza for the children, and the garden itself.

1:00 pm. Back to the pool. The afternoon is deliberately empty — this is the hottest part of the day and the villa is the best place to be.

6:00 pm. Table Land for sunset, 9 km away. The plateau is at its best in the last hour of light.

Day 3 — Books, market, pool

Morning. Bhilar’s Village of Books — reading rooms in village houses, open from about 9 am. An hour is enough and it is genuinely unlike anything else on the plateau.

Midday. Panchgani market for bakeries, cheese and chikki. The strawberry crush and the fudge are the two things everybody buys.

Afternoon. Pool. Again. That is what the villa is for.

Evening. A second farm visit if the group wants it, or a barbecue at the villa.

Day 4 — A short morning and out

8:00 am. Breakfast, pack, and one last swim.

11:00 am. Check out. Drive down in daylight — the ghat is much easier before noon.

What we would change for different groups

With grandparents: the Bhilar villa has one ground-floor bedroom; the Dandeghar cottage has two and is closer to Panchgani town. Both are in this package’s rotation.

With very young children: the Bhilar pool is a uniform four feet with no shallow ledge. That is safer than a sloping pool but still requires an adult in the water, not beside it.

With a dog: the Bhilar villa does not accept pets. Ask us and we will move you to a pet-friendly property — there are several in the same price band.

What it costs and what it does not

The headline price is per villa for three nights, for up to eight guests on beds. Extra guests are charged at the villa’s per-person rate. Meals beyond breakfast and dinner, farm entry, fruit, and travel to Panchgani are not included.

We quote the exact total on WhatsApp once we know your dates and headcount, because peak-season rates move and we would rather give you a real number than a range.

Frequently asked

Is the price per person or per villa?

Per villa, for up to eight guests on beds. Extra guests up to sixteen are charged at the villa's per-person rate, and the calculator on each property page shows the exact split before you book.

Can we pick strawberries ourselves?

Yes, on the farm visit included in the package. Farm entry and the fruit you take away are billed separately by the farm — expect ₹300 to ₹600 per person plus ₹250 to ₹400 per kilo.

What if we are travelling with grandparents?

Tell us. We will move you to a villa with ground-floor bedrooms — the Bhilar villa in this package has one, and the Dandeghar cottage has more. Both are on the list.
