Kelghar and the neighbouring Kelkhamb hamlets sit east of Panchgani on the road toward Medha and Satara. The plateau flattens here, the escarpment faces the sunrise, and the property density drops to almost nothing — which is precisely the appeal.
This is where you go if you want the view without the Bhilar traffic. It is also the most practical base for a September Kaas Plateau trip, since you are already on the correct side of the plateau. The trade-off is distance: 20 minutes to Panchgani market, 40 to Mahabaleshwar.
